Holly Stamm is the founder and Principal of Apto Law, where she serves as Outside General Counsel and senior legal advisor to growing and mid-market companies across the United States.
With more than 20 years of legal and business leadership experience, Holly oversees the full scope of her clients' legal, compliance, and risk management needs — from employment law and commercial contracts to litigation oversight, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and privacy. She operates as an integrated member of each client's leadership team, providing the kind of cross-functional legal counsel that typically requires a full-time General Counsel.
Holly began her career in litigation defense, spending a decade defending Fortune 500 companies in complex employment matters. She then moved in-house, serving as VP of Human Resources and General Counsel for a publicly traded company — where she managed the company's legal, HR, ethics, and compliance functions and gained direct operational experience in the business challenges her clients face today.
That combination — litigation defense, in-house leadership, and two decades of outside counsel practice — gives Apto Law a perspective that traditional law firms and consultancies cannot match. Holly doesn't just advise on legal questions; she understands how legal decisions affect operations, culture, and growth.
Holly has conducted more than 75 workplace investigations across 30+ states, advised on matters spanning Wage & Hour compliance, EEOC defense, Trade Secrets, Unfair Competition, Medical Leave, Independent Contractor classification, and data privacy. She has built and rolled out Employee Handbooks for national multi-state workforces, designed Harassment Prevention Training programs, and managed outside litigation counsel for clients across industries including technology, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, healthcare, food, and financial services.
